Holiday on Me - Dreamy Beach Photo Blogger template

I don't often find photos that I want to use in Blogger template headers but I couldn't go past this one. It's amazingly beautiful and I love all the colours that are hiding in there. So complimentary. It's cold and dreary here (winter) and how I wish I was somewhere warmer.
Hope, wherever you may be, things are good xx

Lady on the Side - 2 Column template with feature lady!

Here we have a delightful blogger template with a woman on the side. Literally! This has a main blog area and a somewhat recessed sidebar - a lovely change from the ordinary blogs that just line them both up together. I hope someone out there likes this....

Carly Says - Show me the Stars! - Lovely Blogger Design by Carly Lloyd Designs

The lovely Carly from Carly Lloyd Designs has made you all a Blogger template and I think you will agree that it is delightful!

Carly says.... "This layout was designed as I love stars, I have a slight fascination for them and one of my favourite colours is pink. The title ‘Show Me The Stars’ basically details that there are A LOT of stars here."

Woo to stars and woo to Carly. I hope you enjoy this layout. It's subtle and sweet!

Shopping in Paris - Chic Blogger Template

Alrighty here is a very very chic (and French) Blogger template! C'mon, I know you love French things! The pastries! The Shopping! The credit for the header image goes to DaPino Graphics (and is released under creative commons licence - read {here} for more info --- this means don't use this image for commercial purposes, people!). DaPino make some of the most awesome graphics I have seen.

The template has a changeable background colour (changeable from within the "Fonts & Colours" section so you can alter this however you like! I was thinking a bold red would look ace, but have a play with the colours yourself and see what you like.

Hope you like it! xx

Cakes & Cakes - 2 Column Template - why not make your own funky header?

click for a live preview

If you want to make your own header, go right ahead (you should make a transparent PNG file). I made an example that you can see how it may look here:

Make my own header?

To successfully make your own header, follow the following guides:
  • Make the header a transparent .png file (so you can see the spotty bg behind it)

  • You can make transparent pngs with my favourite online image editor Pixlr (yes, it's FREE and quite comparable to Photoshop).

  • You want to allow about 100px to 150px transparent "padding" above the text (within in the image I'm talking) so that it's going to be aligned within the spotty bit. If you don't put this padding in and try to insert the header image, it's not going to be in the right place and will look WEIRD! I hope that makes sense, leave me a comment if it doesn't and I'll try to explain more.

  • As always, upload your header image by clicking on: LAYOUT > PAGE ELEMENTS and then clicking "Edit" in the header area. You want to upload your header image, but ensure you DON'T HAVE "shrink to fit" selected. Also make sure you HAVE "instead of title & description" selected.
Click here for visual instructions (much easier to understand). Enjoy.

Excuse Me, I'm Fancy - Blogger Template

(click image above for a live preview)

STOP THE PRESS!

Why not edit the header image and get something a bit spiffier?

I have included the blank .jpg image in the zipped folder so you can add your own title/description in whatever font you like.

This is, in a nutshell, what you have to do:

  1. Open the header image in your graphics program*. Add your own header title text/description. Save this image.

    I came up with this:

  2. Go to LAYOUT > PAGE ELEMENTS and click "Edit" in the header area. You are basically going to tell the blog to show this new image in stead of your boring old plain text header! Click image below for a grab on what to click:

  3. Done!

* You don't need Photoshop (or such) any more because there's something called Pixel Editor which I seem to have within my Firefox Browser. I have no idea if this is now included in Firefox or if I installed the plugin. When I right click on an image, one of the choices is "Edit Image" and when I click that, it brings up a very 'Adobe' inspired editing window:

It looks pretty freaking sweet.

Positive, Negative - Cute Blogger template with RSS icon.

OK, here is something simple, sweet and cute. I have put a little RSS feed icon in the sidebar there which is my absolute favourite RSS icon ever! (credit: ComingUpForAir). I hope you like it!

Vine Me Up & Down Blogger template

Apologies for not posting many templates recently! Ahh, I have been SO BUSY! Here is one I have had up my sleeve for a while. It has a flowery frame at the top and bottom of the main blog area which makes it ultra pretty! Hope you like it! xx

PS: Have you seen the comments section of this blog? I have changed it up so the comments are numbered and with a little image between each post! Soon I will write out a tutorial for you to do similar!

Leafy Subject - pretty, leafy template!

Here is a design I have had in the wings for some time, never seeming to have the time to quite finish it off. It's fairly simple, clean and classic and has a repeating image of dangling leaves that goes across the top of the page. It's very pretty (perfectly suited to an enviro-blog too).

Don't forget to become a fan of yummylolly.com on Facebook too! Link is: here.

Pin Me Up - Pin up girl XML blogger template

This is kind of in the same vein as 'A Dream Girl for Dan' (because that template is one of my absolute favourites! It's simple, yet elegant and I hope ... if you like pin up girls... you like this one.

The background is changeable from within the colours and fonts area (although the middle "blog" box will remain white). xx

1990s Nightmare! (not a very serious template, but here you go)

OK, so I just realised that the 1990s were 20 YEARS AGO! Holy cow, how long ago was that? (although it seemed like yesterday!). I started using the internet {properly} in about 1997 and it was all about flashy web graphics, animated gifs and things that I thought were pretty awesome. In reality they were pretty ugly - well, looking back they certainly are.... but at the time *sigh*

Let me just say, this template is not meant to be taken seriously. It uses some graphics you may remember (and some you may want to forget). Please note that the links - under construction, email me, etc - are not real, they are just for decorative purposes.

Wanted: For Christmas - Santa has been naughty this year!

Here is a pretty cheeky Christmas themed template (you can use it if you like Christmas or if you don't: Santa & Frosty have been naughty after all!). I don't really like the dripping-in-grungy-snowflake themed templates - sorry if you do ;-) - but this is something for someone who's got a bit of a sense of humour and likes simplicity. it's not like you'll be using this template all year or anything {or will you??? I do admit that my favourite coffee mug is a Christmas one that I use all year 'round}

Christmas Baubles - XML Blogger template. Bright, beautiful and baubleicious!

Here's one of my Christmas templates (more coming soon!). I love a good bauble - ok, I know that sounds weird - but these images by Clarice Gomes are beautiful and I was inspired to create something colourful. You could say this is definitely *not* just another grungy snowflake brush template.

A Dream Girl for Dan - clean and classic pin up template

Here is an awesome template with a sexy pin up girl in the header area. It's clean and classic and subtle yet beautiful! I really love this template! I have added a little embellishment under the sidebar headers. Oh and as I have the main background white in the below test site [click for a live preview, it's sooo pretty!] you can change that background colour in the "Fonts & Colours" area. Enjoy xx

Simple Simon blogger template XML

This is a pretty simple template with a navigation bar (editable from within the Layout > Page Elements tab) which looks fantastic when you upload a header image into - either a new header or an image behind the title/description (hope that makes sense, let me know if it doesn't and you want step-by-step instructions).

The background and innner blog colours are changeable from within the "Fonts & Colours" area but the navigation bar is made of images so you're best to stick with greeny type colours.

Joy n Balloon - XML blogger template

This is a very colourful template that is highly customisable by you! The background colours are all changeable from within the "Fonts & Colours" area, including the navigation bar, inner blog colour and post footer colour. As I have outlined below, you can use the header image of the girls and balloons or easily add your own. Enjoy!

click image for a live preview

This blog does not come with the header image installed! It is included in the zip folder, but you will have to install this yourself.

How do I install the header image?
Click on the LAYOUT > PAGE ELEMENTS tab. Then click 'Edit' in the header area. The 'Configure Header' pop up box will open (see below). Select the header image from the downloaded folder. Selecting the position of the header as 'behind title and description' will ensure that the title/description text can still be seen. If you want to hide it, select 'instead of'.

click for a larger preview

Easy!

Can I make my own header image?
Of course! That's the reason I have made this Blogger template without the header image automatically in the template. I advise you make your header image 800px wide for best results (otherwise, if you select "shrink to fit" it may skew and look weird).
Height does not matter, that is up to you.

Once you've made your own header image, you can just install the header as per instructions above.

Please ensure that you backup your widget data, as installing a new template will wipe/erase your current widget content.

PS: If using the girls/balloon image (in the test blog) please leave the link back to the original artist of this photo: D Sharon Pruitt INTACT! (as per creative commons requirements). If you are using your own image you may, of course, remove that link.

Kids at Play - Pink, Blue, Orange Blogspot templates!

Here are some more colour combos of the Kids at Play template.

I am obviously super confused and left the blog description of "Orange Version" in each of these grabs, so please excuse that. They are not, obviously, not all orange versions.

I haven't made test blogs of all of these but you can see a test site of the green version and just imagine the background is in another colour.

the orange version:

the pink version:

the blue version:

I am a nice person and if you want a different colour combination (like yellow and blue, purple and green etc) then please send me an email and I'll make the new image for you and email you instructions on how to change it. My email is: freebloggerdesigns@gmail.com
Please let me know what colours you want the 'inner' and 'outer' area and also, let me know the colours you want, hex# if possible (chose your own #hex colour adventure here).

Oh, and PLEASE be patient, I don't have as much time online as I wish.

Kids at Play - Green Version

This is a sweet child-themed Blogspot template that has silhouettes of kids in the side background area! It's very cute - the images are adorable and are from Pinkmoustache.net (and are delightful!)

I'll make more colours very soon and will post them as soon as I've made them.

Opaque Blogger template - XML Template - HIGHLY CUSTOMISABLE (assmuming my instructions make sense!)

Here we have a template that you can use as is, or customise the header (read below for my instructions).  By default the template you download will have a plain text header, so anyone can of course use it.

My thoughts are all trying to escape my head at once here, so apologies if the instructions come out slightly garbled.  We have a beautiful wide blogger template that's made of semi-translucent png image files (sorry IE 6 users, you're missing out).

If you install it and use it as it is supplied, it will look like this - ie: it will have a plain text header/description:

If you would like to use the template as is, download it here:
Download the XML template: here (zip folder)

HOWEVER.... if you want to be a little fancier and make your own header image using Photoshop (or similar graphics program), then you can make it look something like the preview site {here}.

Alternatively if you don't know how to make transparent images, they maybe you can make a solid backgrounded header image and the blog could look like this:

How do you make your own header image ?

We-ell, first of all I'm going to assume you have Photoshop (or something similar).  You have the option of creating a transparent png or just a normal gif/jpg to insert.  If you chose to go trasparent then you'll need to probably use png24 in Photoshop to make sure the edges are smooth as a baby's bottom.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry!

Basically if you want to make your own header image for this blogger template please ensure that the header image is 950px wide for best results.  In the test site {here} my image is 950x193px.  It can be any height you like but 950 is best for width.

OK OK OK, how do I insert this header image I made?

Click on Layout > Page Elements and click on "Edit" in the header area:

(click for a larger view)

Once you click on that, a pop-up window will open:

(click for a larger view)

Select your image to upload "instead of title and description" and then save.  Done!

SHUTUP LADY and just let me download the freaking template!

REMEMBER: the template will, by default, come with a plain text header.  Don't worry if you don't want to make a fancy one of your own!

OMG, WHAT? I don't understand what you're talking about here!

Sorries.  I guess anyone can use the plain text header template but you're going to have to have a few graphics skillz to make your own header and then insert it.
